The 2024 MotoGP Champion, Jorge Martin 89, has officially announced that he will part ways with the Aprilia team after the 2025 MotoGP season concludes. Martin made the announcement through a personal social media post on Thursday (May 29, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his Instagram Story, Martin shared four slides of official statements\u2014two in Spanish and the other two in English\u2014explaining his decision not to extend his contract through the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Martin firmly stated that he has never violated the contract agreed upon with Aprilia. He explained that there is a specific clause within the contract allowing him to make decisions about his future if certain conditions are not met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen we signed the contract, Aprilia and I agreed that if certain conditions were not fulfilled, I would have the right to decide my future for the 2026 season,\u201d wrote the 27-year-old rider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin joined Aprilia on a two-year deal after winning the 2024 MotoGP<\/strong> championship with Ducati,<\/strong> hoping to better understand the bike\u2019s characteristics and the working system of the new team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin\u2019s decision to terminate the contract early was also influenced by an injury that has sidelined him since the beginning of the 2025 MotoGP season. He mentioned that the situation had become less than ideal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, Martin stated that he remains open to discussions with Aprilia about the possibility of extending the evaluation period through several Grand Prix rounds after he returns to racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
