Don’t Choose Carelessly! Consider These Before Installing BiLED on Your Motorcycle

The use of BiLED lights on motorcycles is becoming increasingly popular due to its ability to provide brighter and more focused lighting compared to standard lights. 

However, improper installation can pose a danger to other riders due to the glare from the headlights.

Quoted from Kumparan, Nanang Sunardi, the Head Mechanic at Pendawa Horn Workshop, emphasizes the importance of installing BiLED lights according to the correct standards, from the electrical system to the headlight adjustment.

"For the electrical system, we use a relay, fuse, and cables with a minimum of 2 mm thickness to prevent the cables from overheating," explained Nanang. Additionally, adjusting the height of the headlight beam is also very important. In manual systems, the beam height should be adjustable according to the needs. 

Even more practical, Nanang recommends using an electric levelling system that allows riders to adjust the headlight beam simply by pressing a button.

"The installation price for BiLED lights in two medium sizes, complete with electric levelling, road level, bracket, retrofit, relay set, and installation ranges from IDR 2.8 million to IDR 3.5 million. Everything is included, just install it on the motorcycle," added Nanang.

Installing BiLED lights with the electric levelling feature provides convenience, as the position of the light beam can be adjusted without the need for disassembly.

Nanang also emphasized the importance of adjusting the lamp position during retrofit to make it more flexible. "Many people use glue for permanent lamp installation, which makes it impossible to adjust automatically. We prefer using brackets, which allow for manual adjustment," he said. 

These brackets can be used on various types of motorcycles, whether they use two BiLED lights like the NMax, Aerox, PCX, and Vario, or one light like the Scoopy, Beat Deluxe, and Nouvo.
