After undergoing a series of private tests in Misano, Jorge Martin 89 has finally been confirmed to return to riding the Aprilia RS-GP25 at the Czech MotoGP, which will be held at the Automotodrom Brno on July 18–20. This confirmation was reached after Martin completed the private test in Misano.
The rider, who has just recovered from a long injury, participated in a closed testing session at the Misano Circuit riding the official MotoGP bike, made possible by new regulations pushed by Aprilia. Aprilia themselves confirmed that Martin completed the test program using all three sets of tires provided, as stipulated by the regulations for riders returning after missing several previous rounds.

After being absent since the Qatar GP earlier this season, Martin has been working to regain his racing "feeling" and readapt to the Aprilia RS-GP25, which he hasn’t ridden in months. The 24-year-old rider completed a total of 64 laps—29 laps in the morning session and 35 laps in the afternoon session—to ensure both his physical and technical readiness.
Aprilia Racing confirmed that Martin will return to compete in the Tissot Czech Grand Prix in Brno, although he must still undergo a final medical check-up scheduled for Thursday before the race. If the results of this medical examination declare him fit, Martin will return to the race track alongside his rivals for the first time since the Qatar GP.
At the beginning of the season, Martin suffered a fairly serious injury—a rib bruise in his right chest caused by pneumothorax after an incident in Lusail. This condition forced him to miss several races and undergo a strict recovery process. The medical team closely monitored Martin’s recovery, and by the end of June, examinations showed positive progress.

Aprilia later confirmed that Martin’s recovery continues to show strong progress. Martin’s personal doctor has also stated that he is fit to return to racing, with a note of caution. With this continued improvement, it’s hoped that Martin can participate in the remainder of the 2025 MotoGP season and resume his championship pursuit. This news is highly anticipated by fans, who have long missed seeing Martin’s action on the track.
